Welcome to The Big Squeeze
The Big Squeeze Ceilidh Band are available for weddings, birthdays and anniversaries, end-of-term parties, Hogmanays, Burns nights, fundraisers — in fact, hoolies of any kind!
We're an Edinburgh-based ceilidh collective who blend Scottish and Irish tunes, instrumentals and Gaelic mouth-music to create a uniquely driving sound.
The Big Squeeze draw on a pool of talented musicians and we have our own experienced caller who'll guide you through dances old and new in her own inimitable relaxed way.
We've played in a wide variety of places: Edinburgh Castle, The Assembly Rooms, Caley Brewery, Ross Band Stand, Corn Exchange and Café Royal in Edinburgh; Borthwick Castle (Midlothian), Dalhousie Castle (Midlothian), Balgonie Castle (Fife) and Glen House (Borders).
We also enjoy playing charity events, such as fund raisers for Marie Curie Cancer Care and for Amnesty International when they held their AGM in Edinburgh.
